Moles occur when cells in the skin, called melanocytes, grow in a cluster instead of being spread throughout the skin. Moles may darken after exposure to the sun, during the teen years, and during pregnancy.
- PhotoDynamic Therapy – is a safe, effective, non-surgical procedure used to treat a variety of skin conditions including acne, rosacea, sun-damage, scars, wrinkles, large pores, and actinic keratosis, an early potential sign of skin cancer.
- Psoriasis/Eczema – are a skin conditions that can appear as a rash with dry, silvery, scaling patches. The affected areas are usually found on the elbows, knees, scalp, chest and trunk. The skin frequently cracks and is painful at times. Fortunately, this can be treated and controlled by laser skin treatments and patients usually receive immediate relief that lasts for months.
- Rashes/Hives – are slightly raised, itchy red welts or blotches that tend to appear suddenly anywhere on the skin lasting from a few minutes to several days.
- Rosacea – is a harmless condition closely resembling acne. The cause is unknown and usually affects adults between the ages of 30-50 who are fair-skinned. Rosacea involves swelling of the blood vessels just under the skin. It may be associated with other skin disorders.
- Skin Cancer – is the most common malignancy in the United States today. Two of the most common are basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma and located in areas of the skin that have frequent sun exposure. Most often these types of skin cancer are easily treated without any lasting effects, however there still exists a minimal chance of these skin cancers spreading to other parts of the body.
- Spider Veins – Spider veins are small clusters of red, blue or purple veins that appear on the thighs, calves and ankles as we age. Laser vein treatment is quick, painless and effective at repairing spider veins.
- Varicose Veins – usually appear as bulging or twisting rope like areas on the legs and are known to be a true medical condition, not a cosmetic issue.
